Orzechy są jednymi z najsilniejszych alergenów. Najczęściej i najbardziej uczulają orzeszki ziemne (arachidowe). Znacznie rzadziej alergie występują w przypadku innych rodzajów orzechów — włoskich, laskowych, migdałów czy pistacji.
